Feedback

Now that that i have completed my final designs i am going to take feedback then improve on my designs from the feedback i get.

Jack - I think that all the designs are good but i think that the contents does not go with the cover or the double page spread. I like the blue and silver colour scheme going on in the background also i like the font's chosen for the magazine. I think that they do represent the chosen genre well. The pictures chosen are also well used. I liked how the picture in the double page spread linked to the title used, however i also thought that the title on the double page spread was bland and almost miss placed.

Ben - I think that the colour scheme throughout the designs is good. There are come spelling mistakes that i also spotted. Also i feel that the contents layout is to square and it doesn't go with the other 2 designs. I also like the magazine name i think it is catchy and would stay in your head after reading it once.

Liam - I think all the products are good, but i also think that the contents lets down the other two products. I like all the glows used on all the text as it makes it a lot easier to read. I also like how the colour scheme is kept in all 3 of the products. I also like how raw is used in every page as it keeps the name of the magazine stuck in your head. The pictures used are also good and i like how the arrow links the picture on the double page spread to actual title of the pages.

These are all photos i may use in my final product. They also may be edited and cropped also there will be other photos that i will use.

Mock-Up3

This is the third mock-up i have designed i used a very dark background photo but did not cover any of the artist on the photo to keep the focus on him as he will be better well known than a magazine name therefore widening my target audience. I also used a bright coloured text font and glow to attract the readers eye and make the magazine cover stick out more than what other magazines designs would. This is not only to attract the audiences eye but also to make the text more easier to read. I have also used a small Freebie of music download to also attract and broaden out my target audience.

Mock-Up2

This is the second mock-up i have designed. This design has a different more dark colour scheme. Also the layout is different by cropping the photo but also keeping it in the centre and bringing it to the front of that page it makes the well know artist the centre of attention. This will attract the correct target audience because people that like this artist will be attracted to buy this magazine. Also i have used a give away of a competition to win a prize to attract peoples attention towards the magazine and also tempt them to buy it.

Mock-Up1

This is my first mock-up i have created to help me design my final product. From my mock-ups i will take different elements that i like and think look professional and add them to my final product. In this mock-up i used a basic photo of a well know celebrity R&B singer to attract the wright target audience. I also played with the colour scheme until i found one that i liked and thought went well with the background picture. The reason in which i am designing these mock-ups is to give me more experience so then when i come to designing my final product i should be better and more improved.

From my research and planning i have decided to name my magazine R&B RAW. I think that this magazine name is suitable because it is catchy and i can also use it in elements of my magazine such as information etc. Ways in which i could use it would be to have lines to attract my target audience such as: ''R&B RAW brings you the new upcoming RAW talent in R&B''.

These are all the current big names in R&B magazines. I will use different elements that i like from these magazines to help me make a better more proffesional final design. Once i have made the first part of my final design (front cover) i will keep the same theme and colour scheme through the contents and the double page spread. This will also give my final design a more proffesional look.

These are all possible fonts that i may use in my magazine. The reason i have chosen there fonts is because i think they all have a modern day look to them and also do not look like a Gothic or dance type font. This will be relevant to my magazine as my theme is R&B. Also the reason i want them to modern is because there is a bigger audience in the younger generation than the old.

This is also a layout that i may use for my magazine.

This is a very basic layout that i may use for my final design. I would have to make sure that the font colours etc do not make it confusing to read over the background picture. Also the layout puts the background picture as the main focus on the page.

These will be colour themes that i may use for my magazine:

black/white/blue

black/green/white

white/red/black

white/black/yellow

white/orange/green

white/ shades of blue

white/ shades of green

Now that i have finished my research stage of my blog i am now moving on to planning. The genre i have chosen for my final designs is R&B. I will now plan different elements for my magazine such as pictures, fonts etc to relate to my chosen genre and also to attract the wright target audience.

This double page spread has alot more going on. It has an overlapping title to put the focus on the headline. They also use a picture in the bottom right with a type of picture frame effect. Also the background relates to the band in the picture. The band are a rocky kind of gothic band so they used red and black gothic type colours also the symol in the middle is also known in rock bands etc. The good thing about this magazine is that while there is alot going on in the background the text is still easy to read and also it doesnt take the focus away from the text or the pictures.

this double page spread is verry basic with a full page pictur of the artist B.I.G . also this relates to the title '' THE B.I.G. PICTURE'' it relates in two ways the first is that the artist is named big and also they have used his name to relate to the title also they used a big picture to relate to the title. They also used an overlapping picture on the I on the bottom left of the first page. also they have used a very basic white background to put the focus of the reader on the picture and the text.
